What is Change Work Strategies Coaching

(CWS) & how is it different?

CWS, developed by a therapist, is modeled on cutting-edge therapeutic interventions.

Most coaching models focus on skill building in order to help you fix what you think is wrong, without tapping into the underlying strategies that drive what’s wrong in the first place. This is like starting a project from the middle without setting up the preliminaries.  You might be able to achieve some traction, but backsliding is inevitable.

CWSCoaching, however, is modeled on  time-tested, scientifically validated, evidenced-based therapeutic approaches. These “3rd-wave models” focus directly on releasing the patterns, language, and strategies that hold problems in place, as well as activating those that offer vitality, direction, and clarity – so you can truly get on with the business of living your life.

CWS is about training the mind, rewiring the brain and doing what works… FOR YOU!

Here’s the thing: your brain and body have evolved to help you survive by predicting and avoiding danger. To do this, the mind organizes your experience by hard-wiring conditioned patterns and responses that quickly kick into action when your survival is threatened. These automatic patterns don’t require thought, making them pretty darn helpful in life-and-death situations, but they fall short in ordinary life, where tigers are no longer lucking in the bushes.

From an CWS perspective…

The fact that minds do what they were designed to do – is NOT the problem. The problem stems from our attempt to negate, manage, control, and avoid the things we don’t want… and to endlessly chase after the things we want.

The good news is this: Modern neuroscience has confirmed what wisdom traditions have known all along – at our most basic level, we are wired to thrive. However, this inherent drive toward wholeness simply gets overlaid by our experiences – from pre-natal to present. ALL of our experiences – the good, bad, ugly, and traumatic.

As a psychotherapist with a background in systems theory, developmental psychology, yoga and spirituality, I have a unique perspective on the relationship between thought, feeling, emotion, behavior and belief – and how these impact your experience.

By training and honing my skills, I am able to float between multiple perspectives, helping you see where you’re stuck, what needs development and where your strengths and growth potential are waiting to surface.

My work and our work together is informed by the “Best of the Best” in emerging research, time-tested theories, decades of experience in counseling and coaching… and my unwavering attention to what works.
